Mawsons of Bailey

The dairy processes and bottles our own milk. The cream is also bottled and the surplus is churned into butter. We also have a range of Cheeses and Smoothies, which are specially made for us on small family farms.
We have recently opened a farm shop on site and our policy is to offer our customers as many as possible of our own products, topped up with high quality produced sourced locally whenever possible.
The Mawsons came to Bailey Ground Farm in 1947, and have farmed here ever since. The family now consists of Ken & Kate, their sons Stephen & Richard, their partners Liz & Sarah, and Caitlin and baby Molly.
Our ancestors have farmed on many of the farms in this area through the centuries. In fact they farmed at Fleming Hall, a mile from Bailey Ground, in 1596.
Our Grandmother, Jane Moore, after whom we have named the butter) farmed at the Howe Farm in Seascale in the 1930s from where they ran a milk round delivering twice a day. She showed butter at the National Dairy Show in London and ornamental butter at the local Shows.
